MIYAGI PREFECTURE

Miyagi is located on the Pacific coast in the southern Tohoku Region. Like much of Tohoku, the area was heavily affected by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, but recovery continues apace and the area has many cultural and natural sights that remain intact. Enjoy the convenience and history of the Miyagi hub of Sendai, take a seaside stroll and a boat cruise in Matsushima - one of Japan’s three most scenic views - or enjoy the historical castle town of Shiroishi.
