  • HISTORY
  • LOCAL DELICACIES
  • WILDLIFE / NATURE

Nagatoro (Saitama Prefecture) is only two to three hours from Tokyo, but it feels like a trip to a different era.
Set in a beautiful valley, this small town delights visitors with its red leaves in autumn, its amber wintersweet plants in winter, and its cherry blossoms in spring.
Nagatoro provides visitors with a range of activities including river boating, riding a cable car to Mount Hodo, and walking scenic hiking trails. Nagatoro’s sights can be easily covered in a day trip, but an extra day is recommended for hikers.
